Customer questions & answers
Question:
Answer:
Alright. Comprehensive answer time.
When it was initially released, it had a software suite that you needed to
download to use all the fancy lighting options.
IT DOES NOT REQUIRE THIS TO FUNCTION as a mouse. You don't need to install any
intrusive or annoying software. In fact, on many computers, the software has
been upgraded to the point where you might not even be able to find a version
that is still supported. Depending on how new your computer is, you might not
need/want to install it anyway. It works as a good mouse and you can slave the
buttons out just like any other human interface device from your system control
panels.
If you WANT the suite, and your computer supports it, it's an easy download and
the only intrusive things that will be installed are the ONES YOU CHOOSE TO
INSTALL during the install... click a button, get a result. That's on you. But
as far as annoying, memory hog, spyware and the like: no... you can do that if
you want to by going looking for them, but those aren't required.
I'm literally using this mouse right now with nothing installed beyond the
drivers that windows used to recognize it as a mouse. Works great. Only thing I
can't do is have the LEDs stick on one color since I don't use the suite.
Upside, the LEDs are there for show in the first place so the rainbow cycling
isn't a fundamental issue

be set to 400? 2. can all the lights be shut off?
Answer:
Yes, can be set in SteelSeries Engine software.
Question:
Answer:
Most likely had angle enabled. Download the steel series
software. And disable it. Also recommend disabling windows mouse acceleration
aka precision. You want raw Input as a beginner to pc gaming.
Question:
If I have it
plugged into my computer, will I need to replace batteries for the rgb?
Answer:
No

Question:
Do i have to
reinsert the 2.4 ghz dongle every time i turn on my pc?
Answer:
No unless your computer wipes the install drivers for this
mouse, personally I don't know why you would go wireless over wired. I did that
in the past, now I use solely a wired connection. Hey it's your preference.
